Zakaria Nouri’s film “Aïcha” represents Morocco at the 22nd Ismailia Documentary and Short Film Festival

The film “Aïcha” by young Moroccan director Zakaria Nouri will represent Morocco at the 22nd edition of the Ismaïlia Documentary and Short Film Festival, which will be held from June 16 to 22 in Egypt, as part of the short film competition.

The film, in which actress Nisrine Erradi stars, alongside other artists including Najat Skali, Taoufiq Al-Mouini and Raouf Sabahi, tells the story of a girl who is trying to cope with difficulty. of life and struggles by all means to provide for herself and her bedridden mother.

The film, which had already won the prize for Best Film at the Mesopotamia Short Film Festival in the Netherlands last year, has been selected to represent Morocco, Africa and the Middle East in several international festivals, notably in Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Greece and Argentina.

This year’s edition will see the participation of 78 films from 50 countries which will compete for the various festival prizes in the categories of animated films, feature-length documentaries, short documentaries and short films.

This year’s session honors several Egyptian artists, including the late Rajaa Al-Jeddawi, critic Kamal Ramzy, artists Safia Al-Omari, and Ahmed Badir and late director Fayza Hussein.
