Youth entrepreneurship: ADA launches national Agriyoung Innovate competition

As part of the operationalization of the ambitious youth entrepreneurship program which is at the heart of the main objectives of the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA) is launching the national Agriyoung Innovate competition.

The objective of this initiative is to identify, select and support innovative projects, in the field of digital and climate-smart agriculture, led by young enthusiasts who adopt an inclusive entrepreneurial approach, in order to give life to an ecosystem favorable to the professional integration of young people.

Agriyoung Innovate is a challenge that aims to put innovation at the service of Moroccan agriculture. This pilot project, launched in close collaboration with the Innovation Laboratory for Rural Development P-Curiosity Lab (PCL) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), aims to boost rural development and aims to provide strong support young people with the innovative solutions needed to transform the agricultural sector.

This national competition will take place in 4 main stages: The first concerns the launch of a call for projects and the selection of 20 initiators of innovative projects in the field of digital and climate-smart agriculture, and the second consists of the accompaniment of the project leaders selected through an intensive 5-month training, mentoring and pitching sessions, support for prototyping and networking.

The third stage will be dedicated to DEMO-DAY, a day during which the 20 project leaders will have the opportunity to present their projects to a committee made up of experts, investors and partners in the field of agriculture.

At the end of this stage, three winners will be awarded, and therefore, the fourth and final stage will focus on support for the implementation of the 3 winning projects through a dedicated post-support program encompassing business creation, preparation of the Business Plan to obtain financing, obtaining the first customer order form and establishing contact with the UM6P ecosystem.

As such, the ADA strongly invites motivated and interested young project leaders to submit their applications on the website exclusively dedicated to the competition (www.agriyounginnovate.com) before August 03, 2022.
