Youssef En-Nesyri, 6th top scorer in the major European leagues

Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, pillar of Sevilla FC, is now the sixth top scorer in the five major European leagues in 2023, thanks to his 16th goal against Juventus Turin.

The 25-year-old international striker is at the top of his game and continues to show, once again, that he is Sevilla’s undisputed attacking benchmark. Proof of this are the 16 goals he has scored with the Spanish club since January 1, 2023, as many as the famous Kylian Mbappe.

According to data published by Mr.Chip, En-Nesyri is the sixth top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues so far this year. He is thus ranked behind Erling Haaland who offered 24 goals to his team, Karim Benzema with 21 goals, Alexandre Lacazette, Marcus Rashford and Victor Osimhen with 18 goals each.

The World Cup in Qatar was a turning point for En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker had barely managed to score two goals in the first three months of competition with Sevilla. However, after the historic feat of the Atlas Lions during the football high mass in which he was key in the revelation team and thanks to the leadership of Moroccan coach Walid Regragui, it is another En-Nesyri who was born. The Lion has thus unlocked to score 16 goals in 2023 with his Spanish club, while the latter wanted at all costs to get rid of it this winter to bring in money.

Remember that since the arrival of coach José Luis Mendilibar on the Seville bench, the winner of the Mohammed VI Football Academy has scored a total of six goals in ten official matches in which Sevilla FC has not lost only once against Girona.

I am very proud of Youssef En-Nesyri. He’s a great person, and he’s principled as a person. He made a lot of effort to progress as a player. I consider him my little brother […] I believe he can still progress and improve as a player“, Yassine Bounou told the official UEFA website after the match between Juventus and Sevilla FC played on Thursday evening.
