Beautiful consecration for Youssef El Arabi. Author of a high-flying season with Olympiakos, the Moroccan international reaped the fruits of his efforts and won the trophy for the best player of the season in Greece.
We no longer present him. Installed at Olympiakos since 2019, Youssef El Arabi has been, on many occasions, the lethal weapon of the Piraeus club and has shown the extent of his talent, season after season.
In a poll organized by the local League on social networks, the Atlas Lion collected the highest number of votes (48.71%) out of 17 nominated players, to claim the title of best player of the Super League in Greece.
The Olympiakos striker is ahead of his teammate Ahmed Hassan Kouka (34.74%) and Aris player Luca Sacha who collected 4.5% of the votes to complete this top 3.
The 34-year-old is the league’s top scorer with 20 goals. The Moroccan, during his Europa League stint, recently equaled a Lionel Messi record and became the fourth player to score in three consecutive games against Arsenal in major European competitions after Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Bayern Munich duo Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski.
This is not the first time that Youssef El Arabi has been rewarded for his performance on the pitch. In February, he received two awards, that of the top scorer and the best foreign player in the Greek league.
This award comes to comfort the player who recently faced trouble with the law. The former Caen was sentenced a month ago to one year in prison by the Montpellier court for a case of violence dating back to 2017.
