The women’s national football team will play, on Saturday July 23 at the Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat, the final of the women’s African Cup of Nations (CAN) against its South African counterpart.
It is Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, who will chair this meeting.
As a reminder, the Atlas Lionesses validated their qualification ticket to the final by beating the multiple defending champions, Nigeria on penalties 5-4 (1-1).
For their part, the Banyana Banyana beat Zambia (1-0) in the semi-finals.
In addition to Chakib Benmoussa, the final will see the presence of several personalities including six ministers from African countries as well as members of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Note that the four African teams qualified for the CAN semi-finals have ensured their participation in the Australia-New Zealand Women’s World Cup 2023.
