The Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has launched a call for projects to select the only Moroccan film that will represent the Kingdom, in the category of international feature film, at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony, held on March 12, 2023 in Los Angeles. by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
A press release from the CCM specifies that the Center’s commission will meet in September to choose the feature film that will represent Morocco during the next edition of this high mass of the 7th art.
Films submitted to the commission should meet a number of criteria. To be admissible, the film must be longer than 40 minutes, produced outside the United States in a dominant foreign language, other than English.
The films in question must in particular be the subject of commercial exploitation in cinemas in Morocco, between January 1 and November 30, 2022, for at least seven consecutive days. Authors of animated feature films and documentaries can also submit their applications before August 19, 2022, the closing date of the call for proposals.
