The United States announced on Tuesday a new military aid of 325 million dollars to Ukraine.
A statement from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken states that this security assistance program includes essential air defense capabilities, additional ammunition for high mobility artillery rocket systems, artillery shells , anti-tank weapons, armored vehicles and other equipment.
The announcement of this aid comes at a turning point in the war in Ukraine, after the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam and the start of a counter-offensive by Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian soldiers are still advancing very slowly, even “difficultly”, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a video broadcast Monday evening, the Ukrainian president admitted that the counter-offensive was “difficult”, in particular “because of the rain”, but that his troops were “progressing”. Seven villages have reportedly been retaken from Russian forces in the south and east of the country as part of these operations, the Ukrainian government said on Monday evening.
