The Emirates and France signed a major contract for the acquisition of French arms on Friday. These are Rafale fighter jets and Caracal helicopters, according to the French presidency.
On the sidelines of a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to the Emirates on Friday, the two countries have strengthened their ties by signing an agreement on the purchase of nearly 100 French-made combat devices.
The Emirates have signed for 80 Rafale combat aircraft, manufactured by the French group Dassault Aviation, and 12 Caracal helicopters.
“This is a major achievement of the strategic partnership between the two countries,” said the French presidency in a press release.
