The regions of Grand Casablanca-Settat and that of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra are the only two with more than 100 new infections due to the coronavirus, this Thursday, October 14.
MoroccoLatestNews’s watch and monitoring platform, www.moroccolatestnews.com, details that Morocco now has 941,009 confirmed cases, 14,520 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 1.5%), 920,476 healings, a total of 8,951,872 tests (an increase of 15,098), and 6,013 cases under treatment, including 436 in serious condition (23 under intubation).
In addition, 23,178,173 people have received a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 20,723,634 are in the second dose and 402,423 for the third, the health ministry said.
As for the geographical distribution, Grand Casablanca-Settat leads the most affected regions with 192 new infections, mainly in Casablanca (151).
The region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is the second in terms of new infections and records 186 new cases, the majority of which have been identified in Salé (57) and Rabat (49).
Next, the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region which reports 36 new cases, including 7 in Tetouan and 6 in Tangier-Assilah, while that of Marrakech has 34, with Nador the most affected city (18).
The region of Fès-Meknes has 16 new cases, mainly in Fez (7), followed by the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra reports 10 new infections including 6 in Khouribga as well as Marrakech-Safi mainly in Marrakech ( 4).
For its part, the region of Dakhla Oued-Eddahab takes stock of 8 new contaminations concentrated in Oued Ed-Dahab, while that of Guelmim Oued-Noun finds 8 in Guelmim, i.e. one more case than that of Souss-Massa. .
Finally, the last regions in the ranking which have new cases are those of Draâ-Tafilalet and Laâyoune Sakia-El Hamra which respectively have 3 new cases in Zagora and 2 in Laâyoune.
