Significant new impetus was given on Friday, May 26 to the Maroc Bio interprofessional organization, thus marking a crucial stage in its development. Since the signing of the program contract at the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) and thanks to the considerable impetus given by the government, the organic farming sector has experienced remarkable dynamics in terms of national structuring and regional consolidation.
Two major regions are enthusiastically committed to joining Maroc Bio, bringing together renowned, motivated and recognized producers, said Slim Kabbaj, president of the Maroc Bio Interprofession.
This is the region of Draa-Tafilalet took the unanimous decision during its regional general assembly to join the interprofessional organization and to participate actively in this constructive process at the national level. It thus aspires to become a key player in the 2023-2030 program contract. This region is thus added to the large regions of Marrakech-Safi, Souss-Massa and Meknes-Fez, which already have vast areas devoted to organic farming, according to Slim Kabbaj.
On the same day, the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra held an exchange and sharing meeting on the program contract and the regional objectives in terms of organic farming, indicated the president of Maroc Bio.
” The most active and innovative players in this region have decided to organize themselves into a regional association and to hold a constituent general assembly in the coming weeks. They have clearly expressed their desire to participate fully in the program contract and to defend the interests of their region, in a spirit of clarity and solidarity within the Maroc Bio interprofessional organization.“, he pointed out.
Also, Slim Kabbaj underlined that the Directorate of Sectors of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Comader actively support this very positive dynamic for the organic farming sector, noting that this recognition of the strategic importance of this sector, like the highlights the Generation Green plan presented by King Mohammed VI, confirms the relevance of the efforts undertaken.
