Two Moroccan productions were awarded during the 23rd edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival which took place from June 12 to 15, 2023 in Tunis.
In the category of Comedy Series, “Yawmiyat rafik”, a Ramadan sitcom produced by the National Radio and Television Company (SNRT), won the second prize.
For its part, the television program “Al Ghalia Bladi”, also produced by SNRT, won second prize in the “Documentaries” category.
The Sultanate of Oman had the lion’s share of the winners of this 2023 edition, winning eight awards for television and radio programs.
The golden shield of the festival was awarded to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, the Egyptian Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Placed under the slogan “Celebrating Arts and Culture”, the ASBU Arab Radio and Television Festival returned to Tunis, after a single edition in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
The winners were selected from 15 television channels and 15 member radio stations that were in the official selection for audiovisual media professionals. 90 television works were in the official competition and 50 works in the parallel section. The selection of radio stations brought together 129 works, 108 of which are in the competition.
The ASBU festival welcomes, annually, ASBU member bodies among public Arab television channels and radio stations and those of private radio and television, production companies and Arab press agencies. Production companies and non-Arab channels and radio stations that produce and broadcast in Arabic are also represented.
Since its creation in 1969, the pan-Arab organization of ASBU has been working to strengthen cooperation links between Arab broadcasting organizations in order to develop the content of their audiovisual productions.
