The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), and on the basis of information provided by the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance (DGST), succeeded on Wednesday in apprehending a partisan element of the terrorist organization Daesh.
The respondent was active between Morocco and Spain, said a statement from the DGST sent to MoroccoLatestNews, noting that the operation is part of the ongoing efforts to deal with the terrorist threat, and thwart the extremist projects targeting the security and stability of the Moroccan and Spanish Kingdoms.
This security operation carried out jointly with the Spanish “Guardia Civil” resulted in the simultaneous arrest of an element in Nador by the special force under the DGST and its accomplice in the city of Lérida, by this Spanish service, specifies the BCIJ.
The investigations confirmed that the two individuals arrested were in contact with an irregular immigration network to obtain false identity documents in order to use them in the execution of their terrorist projects.
Ongoing security coordination between the two services revealed that the two suspects were linked to elements affiliated with Daesh on the Syrian scene as part of the preparation to carry out terrorist operations in Europe, on the basis of the instructions of leaders of this terrorist organization.
