The American businessman, owner of Twitter, Elon Musk announced on Saturday that the social network will soon offer its users to buy press articles individually.
“Starting next month, this (Twitter) platform will allow media publishers to charge readers, article by article, with the click of a button,” Musk said in a tweet.
This approach will allow users “who would not take a monthly subscription to pay a higher price per article when they want to read an article on an occasional basis”, he added.
According to observers, Musk’s new project requires the participation of news publishers, who would have to agree to plug their content into the platform, which does not seem like an easy task given the model’s chaotic history and reputation now ” dog-eared” from Twitter.
