The Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) and the Huawei technologies group proceeded this Wednesday, during a launch ceremony of the Digitech Talent, to the signing of an agreement aimed at defining the objectives of a sustainable partnership bearing on actions aimed at encouraging private initiative and supporting digital transformation for the development of very small businesses and tourism start-ups, but also the implementation of an innovative and competitive tourism product.
The partnership between SMIT and Huawei, whose objective is to strengthen the integration of digital transformation at the level of the tourist product, will also make it possible to improve the tourist experience and the attractiveness of the territories by promoting the emergence of innovators likely to contribute to the modernization and enrichment of the tourist offer.
As a result, Huawei will use its know-how for the development of innovative digital solutions and its digital academy to support SMIT and investors in the Tourism sector.
The second axis of partnership between the SMIT and the Huawei Group concerns support for the tourist VSME. Huawei will participate, alongside SMIT, in the enrollment (sourcing) and incubation of start-ups in the tourism ecosystem acting in innovation.
All of these actions are part of the approach adopted by SMIT for the development of an innovative “Smart Tourism” product in line with the new expectations of tourists.
