The NGO TIBU which uses the power of sport to design social and innovative solutions in the field of education, empowerment and socio-economic inclusion of young people and women through sport announced the holding of the 1st Maghrebian hackathon which brings together more than 50 young Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians with the aim of finding creative local solutions through sport to issues related to the inclusion of young people.
Organized from October 21 to 30, 2021 in Tunis in partnership with the Tunisian Federation of Sport for All and with the support of the Danish NGO “Cross Cultures Project Association” and the citizen company “Bayer”, this hackathon entitled “Maghreb Social Innovation Hackathon through Sport ”aims to provide participants from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia with an experiential learning opportunity that will help the development of social innovation through sport in the region, says TIBU-Maroc.
It will also provide future sports social entrepreneurs with social intervention techniques through interaction with mentors, incubators as well as participants from different countries.

For his part, the President of the Tunisian Federation of Sport for All, Jalel Ben Tekaya, affirmed that “the Tunisian Federation of Sport for All is proud to be able to participate with the NGO TIBU Maroc in the transmission of the techniques and tools necessary for to create a generation of sports social entrepreneurs capable of solving social problems in their countries thanks to the power of sport ”.
During this event, participants will be trained to develop several skills related to:
• the creation of a sports social enterprise,
• Benchmark techniques,
• the use of sport to promote the achievement of the 17 sustainable development goals,
• the key skills of the 21st century in particular: critical thinking, cooperation, creativity and communication which are essential for the creation of future synergies between the Algerian, Moroccan and Tunisian participants.
The objective of the Hackathon is to design a model that makes it possible to intervene with young people at high risk through sport, with a view to promoting their social inclusion, while developing around an economic model that reassures the sustainability of the project.
The participants are led to innovate practices within sports platforms for the benefit of the Maghreb youth, in response to the challenges of the 21st century, and transporting the beneficiaries on the side of social exclusion towards a quality inclusion, allowing the release of potential. of each young person.
All the actions that will be proposed as part of this Hackathon will be around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which will be the catalyst for any intervention.
