Three people arrested for fake news linked to illegal emigration

The elements of the judicial police of the cities of Tetouan, Fnideq and Tangier, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested, Friday evening, three individuals aged 18 to 20, for publication alleged fake news and digital content inciting irregular emigration.

The computer monitoring services under the National Security had detected digital publications encouraging users of social network platforms and applications to irregular emigration through Bab Sebta, indicates a security source.

The technical investigations and the field investigations carried out made it possible to confuse the suspects and apprehend them during security operations carried out in Tetouan, Tangier and Fnideq.

The defendants are the subject of a judicial investigation carried out by the prefectural service of the judicial police of Tetouan under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to reveal the real motive of these criminal acts, underlines the same source, noting that the research and investigations are continuing to arrest all the accomplices who participated in the publishing and distribution of the content in question.
