Three memorandums of understanding relating to the implementation of industrial investment projects in the Fez-Meknes region were signed on Tuesday, July 11 in Rabat, between the State and the companies “Daxen Morocco LLC”, “SOMACAN” and “GENAS”.

These projects, which concern the agro-industrial, pharmaceutical and aeronautical sectors, underline the desire to strengthen the industrial attractiveness of the Fez-Meknes region through the development of new activities with high added value, indicates the Department of Industry.

On this occasion, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, underlined that “The Fez-Meknes region is a veritable breeding ground for economic opportunities. The signing of these memorandums of understanding constitutes a catalyst for the industrial development of the region and its influence”.

In doing so, he said, the State affirms its commitment to position the region as an investment hub by stimulating a strong regional economy that generates employment and wealth.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding with Daxen Morocco LLC concerns the construction of an agro-industrial unit for the manufacture of products based on spirulina and Ganoderma mushroom, with an area of ​​43 hectares within the Agropolis industrial park. , in the municipality of Majjate.

The realization of this project, whose total investment amount is approximately 162 million Dhs, will generate 250 new direct jobs.

The 2nd memorandum of understanding signed with the company SOMACAN concerns the construction of a cannabis processing unit for pharmaceutical use in the Industrial Park of Ain Cheggag (Province of Sefrou). Covering an area of ​​6000m², this unit will require an investment of 60 million Dhs, with the creation of 100 direct jobs.

The latest memorandum of understanding signed with the company GENAS, active in the aeronautical, naval and energy sectors as well as in the development of security systems, relates to the establishment of an industrial unit for MRO and aircraft dismantling. and helicopters, at the Fez-Meknes airport. With an investment of 350 million Dhs, this project will create 250 direct jobs.

This project is part of the professions of the future in the aeronautics sector and represents strong development potential given the growing demand for aircraft dismantling, following the aging of the world fleet.
