The “Youth Pass” is a new way to bring culture closer to this important part of society and thus allow it to benefit from multiple services and advantages, said Tuesday in Rabat, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Social Affairs. communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.
This card will promote the accessibility of young people to museum structures, following a partnership concluded between the supervisory ministry and the National Foundation of Museums of Morocco (FNM), explained Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid on the sidelines of the opening of the exhibition “Of rage and desire, the beating heart of Men” at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI).
It is also a matter of promoting the accessibility of Moroccan youth to cultural matters, in particular to the multiple exhibitions organized in the different regions of the Kingdom, the minister noted in a statement to the press.
“Culture plays a major role in society and allows citizens to ask themselves the right questions,” said Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, highlighting the importance of the rich priceless heritage that will be bequeathed to rising generations.
For his part, the president of the FNM, Mehdi Qotbi indicated that the creation of this “Youth Pass” is intended as an incentive decision for this social fringe, in particular young people from working-class neighborhoods.
Welcoming the materialization of this card, Mehdi Qotbi stressed that it is an essential means to “democratize art” and “promote and favor the accessibility of every Moroccan and young people in particular to culture”.
This “Youth Pass” will be created by the ministry in partnership with private operators, public establishments and local authorities.
