THE ranking: 6 Moroccan universities in the world top in various themes

Six Moroccan universities have distinguished themselves in the international ranking “Times Higher Education 2022” (THE), by positioning themselves in the world Top-1000 in various themes.

Ibn Tofail University in Kénitra ranked in the top 601-800 in physical sciences, followed by Hassan II universities in Casablanca and Cadi Ayad in Marrakech (801-1,000), then Mohammed VI universities in Rabat, Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah de Fès and Hassan 1er de Settat (+1.001), indicates a press release from the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Regarding clinical sciences and health, three Moroccan universities were among the 600 best universities in the world. they are Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah (301-400), Hassan II and Mohammed V (+601).

In terms of life sciences, three universities, namely Hassan II, Cadi Ayad and Mohammed V were ranked respectively 501-600, 601-800 and +801.

The number of Moroccan universities included in this global ranking has increased compared to the previous year, from five to six in the field of physics and from two to three in clinical sciences and life sciences.

The THE ranking is considered one of the best internationally, the same source pointed out, noting that it takes into account specific scientific criteria such as the quality of teaching, scientific research, knowledge transfer or further international openness.
