Crowdfunding for housing, notably in the form of real estate Murabaha, continued to increase at the end of October, with an increase of 49%, indicates Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
Thus, it stood at 15.3 billion dirhams, after 10.2 billion dirhams a year earlier, up 49%, according to the dashboard “bank loans and deposits” of BAM.
Outstanding bank loans stood at MAD 965.7 billion (billion dirhams) at the end of October 2021, up 3.1% annually, the Central Bank said.
In detail, bank credit to non-financial agents increased by 4.1% to 846.3 billion dirhams, while that to financial agents fell by 3.4% to 119.4 billion dirhams.
In addition, BAM reports that at the end of October 2021, loans to households recorded an annual increase of 5%, essentially reflecting a 5.4% increase in housing loans.
