The Moroccan Federation of Sports Professionals (FMPS) was created during a Constitutive General Assembly, held Wednesday in Casablanca, at the initiative of a large number of players in the sports industry, with the ambition of federating companies operating in sport and contribute to the structuring and development of a major sector of the national economy.
“With more than 400 structured companies across the whole Kingdom, our sector had to organize itself in order to better respond to current challenges, become more efficient and ensure that the sports industry becomes one of the locomotives of our economy ”, declared Mehdi Sekkouri Alaoui, President of FMPS, quoted by a press release from the Federation.
Through its action and in collaboration with the public authorities and the entire sports landscape, the Federation also wishes to work to boost, promote and enhance Moroccan sport. “Our ambition is to fully play our role as a major player in Moroccan sport alongside the State and the associative fabric,” said Mr. Sekkouri Alaoui.
The objectives of the FMPS are thus to bring together all the players in the sports industry and to be a credible interlocutor with institutional and financial partners, to promote the sports industry to public authorities, the media, legislative bodies, different economic sectors and to support Moroccan companies in the sector in their international development.
It is also a question of enriching the ecosystem by carrying out monitoring, sectoral studies, contributing to the professionalization of the Moroccan sports landscape and representing and defending the general and special interests of its members.
The FMPS is a representative body of the various sectors of the sector (retail, equipment & infrastructure, institutions, advice, events, start-ups, sports halls, training, tourism, media, etc.).
Its founding members are Stadia, Sporteo, MDJS, GoSport, CitySport, Courir, Cap’Z, Sports Management School, CityClub, Puma, Unica, BellaForme, Matrix, Iktichaf Travel, GC Sports, Newmerique, Olive Communication, BFit Club, Racetimer, Outdooors and Derby.
