Individuals whose identity is unknown for the time being, vandalized this morning the facade of the Moroccan consulate in Algeciras in Spain.
A local newspaper which reported the news, published a photo showing the exterior door of the consulate. The latter is sprayed with a red liquid resembling blood, which presumably the perpetrators of this misdeed have carried out in addition to having affixed a mark there using an adhesive tape. The vandals also placed three banners on the facade of the building that read, ” We are complicit in terrorism against Christians “.
It is further indicated by the local media that this act of vandalism refers, through these writings, to the murder which was perpetrated last week in Algeciras in a church. The banners have been removed, local media said. The police have opened an investigation into the incident and intend to arrest the perpetrators. The same sources also indicated that Karima Benyaich, Ambassador of Morocco in Madrid, who on the same day has just been elected President of the Permanent Commission of the Diplomatic Council of »Casa Mediterraneo”, sent a telegram of condolences to the authorities of the city and to the episcopal conference.
It should be remembered that these condolences follow the murder committed Wednesday through Yassine Kanjaa, against the sacristan of the parish of Nuestra Senora de la Palma, Diego Valencia. He also allegedly injured the parish priest of San Isidro, Antonio Rodríguez by stabbing him in separate attacks on churches in Algeciras.
Apprehended, the detainee will be brought during the day on Monday before the judge of the National Audience (AN) Joaquín Gadea, where he must answer for his actions in connection with “jihadist Salafism”. This incident comes days after unknown assailants targeted the Bilal Mosque in Barcelona’s ‘Mataro’ district. The perpetrators of this crime had written “Death to Islam…Death to Morocco” on the walls of the religious space. These acts follow the speeches “Islamophobes”, held by a group affiliated with the far-right party “Vox” in Spain.
