The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, said Monday in Rabat that the medical coverage project and the reform of social protection, “are moving in the right direction, according to pre-established agendas.
As scheduled, the years 2021 and 2022 were dedicated to the inclusion of all citizens in the compulsory health insurance (AMO) system, Lekjaa said in a statement to the press after the meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the social protection project, chaired by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, emphasizing in this context that since last September, the beneficiaries of the medical assistance scheme (RAMED) have been integrated at of AMO.
He also noted that the year 2023 will be devoted to the reform of assistance systems to integrate them into a unified system dedicated to supporting family compensation, the year 2024 to the implementation and generalization of this system and 2025 to the reform of the job loss compensation system.
According to Lekjaa, today’s meeting, attended by the departments involved in the social protection project, focused on examining the various aspects related to this major societal project, launched by King Mohammed VI. .
The meetings of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the social protection project aim to determine the main measures that will be adopted to continue the implementation of the social protection project according to the planned schedule.
