A year after its relegation to the amateur division, the Kawkab Athlétique Club de Marrakech (KACM) succeeded in its ascent to the Botola Pro D2 “Inwi” after its victory (2-1), Tuesday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, at the expense of the Mansouria Sports Association (ASM).
Thanks to goals from Hamza Fonte (24 min) and Omar Labrini (36 min), the “Chevalier de la Palmeraie” (61 points) found the Botola Pro D2, three days before the end of the Championship, taking advantage of the defeat of CODM (0-1), second with 54 points, against Tihad Casablanca, and the draw of Amal Tiznit, third with 51 points, against Fath Nador.
The meeting between KACM and ASM attracted many spectators among the supporters of Kawkab de Marrakech who, since the beginning of the season, have shown selflessness and dedication in supporting and supporting their club. until the realization of this dream of ascent, also concretized thanks to the commendable efforts of the components of the provisional committee, which ensured the management of the affairs of the club throughout this sports season.
Watched by more than 15,000 spectators, the match was marked by faultless organization which ensured the fluidity of the flow of supporters, thanks to the logistical arrangements and the human resources mobilized, as usual, by the security services in Marrakech. from the early hours. For his part, the KACM coach, Redouane El Haimeur, said he was delighted to contribute to this coronation that he offers to the supporters who have supported the players throughout the season, saluting at the same time the remarkable support given by the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Karim Kassi-Lahlou, to the club since the start of the season.
And to continue that all the components of Kawkab have made commendable efforts to meet the challenge and ensure the ascent to the Botola Pro D2, only one year after its relegation to the amateur division, making it known that its joy will not be complete until the Club does not regain its place among the elite of national football within the framework of a professional project which meets the ambitions of the 5th most successful Club on the scale of the Kingdom, with two titles of the Champion of Morocco (1957-1958 and 1991-1992), six Throne Cup titles (1962-1963, 1963-1964, 1964-1965, 1986-1987, 1990-1991 and 1992-1993) and a Continental title with the CAF Confederation Cup in 1996-1997.
For his part, the player Ahmed Ajeddou indicated that the KACM deserves this ascent thanks to the exceptional efforts made by all the components of the Club, in particular the members of the Provisional Committee, the technical management and the supporters, recalling that he joined the Club. in order to help young players and together achieve this long-awaited wish. The Club veteran said he was very happy to ensure, in two years, the ascent with two different clubs, Club Ittifaq Sportif de Marrakech (CISM) last year and KACM this year.
KACM is currently in first place with 61 points (18 wins, 7 draws and two losses), ahead of CODM (54 points) and Amal Tiznit (51 points). Club Marrakech has scored 34 goals and conceded 20 more.
