Jazzablanca marks its big comeback. After two years of absence caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the casaoui festival returns to the front of the stage with an exceptional program, outdoor concerts and an eclectic atmosphere.
“The festival is entering a new chapter under the sign of intensity. With a three-day format and a new program, Jazzablancais can immediately count on an exclusive atmosphere and many surprises.says a press release from the festival.
The organizers have declared that they have changed the location of this edition, choosing the roofs of Anfa Park for a unique musical experience, with a breathtaking view.
During a press briefing on Tuesday evening, the organizers announced the names of the invited artists including Ibrahim Maalouf, Gilberto Gil, Asaf Avidan, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Erik Truffaz feat Hamid El Kasri, Mulatu Astatke, Majid Bekkas, Seun Kuti, Oum or even Natasha Atlas.
A singular and constantly evolving festival, Jazzablanca created in 2006 offers each edition a unique concept and an exceptional atmosphere: a mix of open-air stages, with a multitude of concerts each evening, spaces dedicated to training and , food stands and activities for young and old.
In 2019, the festival offered more than 58 concerts to the rhythms of jazz, soul, funk, groove, rock and electronic music.
Accessible to the entire population, thanks in particular to its free stage, Jazzablanca offers Casablancans the opportunity to discover artists and cultures from all over the world.
If jazz remains the historical thread of Jazzablanca, a large place is given each year to current music and especially to discoveries. Festival-goers can thus discover new artists alongside international headliners, who often perform for the first time in Morocco, or even in Africa.
