The interests of students at the heart of the revitalization of the education system

The revitalization of the Moroccan education system is done by placing students at the heart of the model, offering them quality education and allowing them to develop their skills and flourish, said Tuesday in London, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa.

In his address to the World Education Forum, which continues until May 25 in the British capital, Chakib Benmoussa noted that Morocco places people at the center of its approach, as it did during the elaboration of its new development model.

Thus, by 2035, the Kingdom is working to develop a prosperous and inclusive economy, creating quality jobs for all and strengthening social justice, the minister said, adding Morocco intends to do so in a sustainable manner. , preserving its natural resources and developing the capacities of its citizens, through research and innovation.

Thus, the revitalization of the education system is done by placing public schools at the heart of a social project, with three strategic objectives aimed at ensuring equity and equal opportunities, he explained.

The first objective concerns compulsory schooling, with the duty for the school to support pupils with special needs, he specified, noting that the second relates to the quality of learning, the school having to s ensure that all students acquire the skills needed to succeed in academic and professional settings.

Finally, the third objective covers the development of students who must acquire at school the values ​​of citizenship, self-confidence, tolerance and peace, detailed Chakib Benmoussa.

To do this, the ministry has put in place a roadmap covering the government’s mandate until 2026, with a focus on the pupil and his career in the education system, on the teacher, his training and the means of developing its teaching practices, and on the school which offers a safe environment, conducive to development, he concluded.

Morocco is participating in the World Education Forum with a delegation led by Chakib Benmoussa and made up of members of his ministry and that of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.

The program of this edition aims to inform on the planning and development of education to support individual and collective resilience and economic progress. It also aims to pave the way for the contributions of education to building a better future.
