the Home Office categorically denies the malicious allegations

The Ministry of the Interior categorically denied “the malicious and unacceptable allegations” conveyed by the leadership of a political party that participated in the partial legislative elections of July 21, 2022 with a view to undermining the credibility of the electoral operation and this , by propagating erroneous information according to which the vote would have been directed by certain agents of authority.

In a statement, the ministry noted that “the leadership of a political party that participated in the partial legislative elections of July 21, 2022 deliberately attempted to undermine the credibility of this electoral operation, by propagating false information claiming that the vote would have been directed by certain agents of authority, by uttering defamatory remarks against them which are not up to the level of the serious political speech which the secretary general of a political party must demonstrate”.

The ministry also noted that these “malicious and unacceptable allegations” are intended to “undermining this electoral stage and casting doubt on its progress in a methodical and deliberate manner, like the political line adopted by the party during the elections of September 8, 2021”.

While saying it is surprised by the justification for this failure to put it on the back of the agents of authority who contributed in a patriotic way to the success of these partial elections, the Ministry of the Interior notes that these accusations which are repeated on the occasion of each electoral deadline are “a form of denigration of the democratic achievements made by our country and of all the efforts made by everyone, government, constitutional institutions, responsible political parties and professional media”. Worse, it is neither more nor less than a contempt and a refusal of the will of the voters who freely and responsibly chose their representatives in the management of national public affairs, we deplore from the same source.

Hence, the necessary reminder that needs to be made, emphasizing that the country has taken care to bring together all the legal, judicial and political guarantees ensuring a transparent conduct of the electoral deadlines, notes the same source, adding that all those who who do not agree have the possibility of having recourse to the competent constitutional institutions to contest the electoral results, which is a democratic practice well anchored in the Moroccan electoral experience, instead of conveying unfounded accusations.
