As part of the social dialogue, a meeting is taking place this Thursday, April 20 between the government and the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), during which the union intends to express a number of concerns, in particular concerning the issue of wage increases and the impact of rising prices on the purchasing power of citizens.
During the press conference at the end of the Government Council, Mustapha Baitas, government spokesman, underlined that the social dialogue was launched within the framework of a defined program and with the participation of several institutions following the agreement of April 30, 2022. He also indicated that the government was working on the institutionalization of this dialogue, with two important meetings planned, and during which the head of government, with the ministers, will have to meet the CGEM and the most representative trade unions
Baitas said three meetings had already taken place, two with unions and one with the CGEM. According to the Minister, these meetings were marked by a serious and responsible dialogue, with a follow-up of several files launched at the end of the April 30 agreement, in particular the reform of several laws and the work of the committees responsible for the private sector. and public.
In addition, Baitas announced the creation of a joint commission between the executive and the unions, which will meet soon to study the possibilities of increasing the purchasing power of citizens.
In short, this meeting between the government and the CDT is part of a social dialogue that is being institutionalized and marks an important step towards taking into account the concerns of the various players in Moroccan society.
