The great flamenco show “Templo de luz” by the Carmen Linares company was invited on Thursday evening to the Ahmed Boukmakh Cultural Center in Tangier, for a journey into a world of colors and life.
This joyful show carried by the greatest stars of this art, namely Carmen Linares, Marina Heredia and Arcángel, under the direction of Isidro Muñoz, offered the public a vast repertoire of an art that takes root in the local tradition deeper and more popular in Spain.
Initiated by the Cervantes Institute of Tangier, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, this colorful flamenco evening was enhanced by the masterful dances of Ana Morales, accompanied by guitarists Miguel Angel Cortés and José Quevedo “Bolita”, as well as percussionist Pakito Gonzalez. This remarkable artistic experience, which took place in front of a packed and completely conquered hall, staged a vibrant musical repertoire covering the different aspects of this emblematic art, plunging the public into a universe filled with joy and imbued with strong emotions.
The director of the Cervantes Institute in Tangier, Javier Rioyo, expressed his joy in being able to attend this unprecedented show, given by the most talented artists, who brought to the stage the most luminous repertoire of flamenco, a popular song that translates the states of mind that human beings go through, including love, joy, death and fear.
The popularity of flamenco with the Moroccan public in general and Tangier in particular has allowed a good organization of this concert and a large crowd, he argued, noting that the city of Detroit has a large number of aficionados of the flamenco art, which dazzles with its emotional density.
Note that this expressive show closed, Tuesday at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, the tour of the World Flamenco Congress, organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Instituto Cervantes. The Flamenco World Congress, which is a breeding ground for inexhaustible musical emotions, began its tour last March from Morocco.
