The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, announced on Tuesday in Rabat the forthcoming completion of the first phase of the program to upgrade health centres, covering 450 centres.
“University hospital centers (CHU) are being rehabilitated and new centers will be created, particularly in the Drâa-Tafilalet, Guelmim-Oued Noun and Béni Mellal-Khénifra regions,” Ait Taleb said in a statement to the press after a meeting, chaired by the head of government Aziz Akhannouch and devoted to monitoring the implementation of the health system reform project.
He explained, in this sense, that “the Guelmim-Oued Noun hospital center, which will be transformed into a CHU, is making significant progress”, adding that “the work relating to the rehabilitation of structures and equipment will be carried out during this year”.
“The territorial health groups, their architectures at the administrative and medical levels as well as the policy they will follow in the short and medium terms, were discussed during this meeting”, he underlined.
He added that “the possibility of reviewing the tariff reference and the healthcare grid were also discussed”, stressing that the head of government gave his directives for the revision of the tariff reference and the healthcare grid. , in order to support the health system reform project.
The national health system reform project lays down the foundations of the social state, which will make it possible to achieve territorial equity in terms of access to health services for the benefit of all citizens.
