The DGSN defeats an attempt to traffic psychotropic drugs in Nador

Elements of National Security and Customs at the Beni Ensar crossing point in Nador managed, early in the morning of Saturday, to thwart an attempt to smuggle 8,020 psychotropic tablets on board a light vehicle carrying foreign license plates, we are told by a security source.

The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a cargo of psychotropic tablets carefully concealed in the spare wheel of the said vehicle, the same source specifies, adding that the searches and investigations carried out within the framework of this operation led to the arrest of its driver, a 42-year-old Moroccan.

The suspect driver was subjected to the judicial investigation conducted by the Judicial Police Brigade under the provincial security district of Nador under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to identify all the people involved in this case and determine the possible ramifications at the levels national and international of this criminal activity, according to the same source.

This case is part of the intense and continuous security operations carried out by the various security services, with a view to combating international drug and narcotics trafficking and to defeating transnational crime in all its forms.
