The Casablanca-Settat region generated 1,590,617 jobs declared to the CNSS in 2021, against 1,501,544 a year earlier, according to a report by the Moroccan Observatory of TPME for the year 2023.
According to this document, entitled “Study on the entrepreneurial fabric – Casablanca-Settat Region”, the prefecture of Casablanca comes first in terms of job creation, with 88%, or 1,399,532, followed by Mohammedia (66,117 , 4.2%) and Berrechid and El Jadida, with 2.9% each.
The study indicates that administrative and support service activities and trade; automobile and motorcycle repair accounted for 37.3% of reported jobs in 2021.
In addition, the Observatory specifies that 84.4% of companies in the region have a workforce of no more than 10 employees, adding that very small, small and medium-sized companies with less than 175 million dirhams in turnover employ 66, 7% of declared workforce.
The study adds that, while “administrative and support service activities” is the main contributor to employment in the prefecture of Casablanca in 2021 (21.3%), in Mohammedia and Berrechid it is the manufacturing industry. which occupies this first place (25.2% and 28.3%, respectively).
