The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MSPS), has announced that the construction works of the new “Ibn Sina” hospital in Rabat, launched by King Mohammed VI on May 05, are progressing at a good pace according to schedule. foreseen.
In this sense, specifies a press release from the MSPS, the minister in charge, Khalid Ait Taleb carried out an inspection visit to the construction site of the new hospital on Saturday in order to take note of the progress of the work.
Accompanied by the wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Mohamed Yacoubi and the director of the National Agency for Public Facilities, Zineb Benmoussa, the Minister followed explanations on the progress of this large-scale project which mobilizes investments to the tune of six billion dirhams as part of a global vision aimed at strengthening the current health infrastructure of the Kingdom.
The project reflects the special interest that the Sovereign grants to the health sector, in particular through the development of hospital infrastructures and the strengthening of basic health services and their bringing closer to citizens, it is underlined.
It should be noted that the hospital, which will be erected on 11.4 ha of land with a litter capacity of 1,044 beds, including 148 in intensive care and resuscitation units, aims to be a modern structure in terms of its architecture, the quality of offers care and by integrating new cutting-edge technologies in the field, as well as meeting the current and future needs of the city.
It will consist of a hospitalization tower (R+ 33 floors), a five-storey medical-technical center, an 11-storey tower dedicated to the National League for the Fight against Cardiovascular Diseases, a conferences, another for training, and a boarding school.
The north-east part of the land, which houses the current hospital, will be converted into green spaces and gardens and will eventually house a museum of medicine and other annexes.
With a covered area of more than 190,000 m2, the future hospital will include a hospital center, intensive care units, day hospitals, outpatient departments, exploration, emergencies and follow-up care and rehabilitation units, resuscitation units, a severe burns unit, a serious respiratory illness service, a hemodialysis center, and logistics, administrative, medical and hotel facilities.
This hospital with high-tech standards and unique and innovative architecture will also have a helipad, a car park with a capacity of 1,300 parking spaces, and green spaces promoting the recovery and relaxation of patients. recovering. It will integrate in its design the best practices of eco-construction as well as new generation technologies (solar filters, photovoltaic panels, natural ventilation, recovery of rainwater and their use in the watering of the green spaces of the hospital) allowing better energy efficiency, in line with Morocco’s commitments to sustainable development.
This futuristic hospital complex meeting international standards will thus be added to the multiple development projects launched by the Sovereign in Rabat, the city of light, Moroccan capital of culture, and aimed at strengthening its influence and attractiveness internationally.
