The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), welcomed the rejection by the London Court of Appeal of the action of the pro-separatist NGO “WSC” against the trade agreement between Morocco and the Kingdom -United. For the employers, this constitutes “a victory for Moroccan and British companies”.
“This is a victory for Moroccan and British companies which will continue to trade calmly and take full advantage of this agreement illustrating the friendly relations between the two countries”, commented the CGEM in a press release published on Friday. .
And to add: “Trade between Morocco and the United Kingdom is thus permanently protected”, and it will also create growing business opportunities, providing additional added value to consumers and businesses in both countries and supporting common economic development. .
In December 2022, the legal attack on the association agreement by the pro-separatist NGO was categorically rejected, recalls the CGEM, adding that today, in a new strong endorsement of the commercial relationship United Kingdom /Morocco, the appeal request was also rejected.
This decision can no longer be appealed and therefore absolutely removes the legal threat to trade flows between the United Kingdom and Morocco, underlines the Confederation.
It should be noted that the British government has always given priority to United Kingdom/Morocco trade, which increased by almost 50% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to Q4-2021.
