The Director General of the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM), Anouar Benazzouz, officially began his mandate at the head of the International Road Federation (IRF), during the summit of the International Transport Forum (FIT), which is held in Leipzig, Germany, under the chairmanship of Morocco.
Anouar Benazzouz, who was unanimously elected new president of the IRF, on the occasion of a general assembly of the Federation held on March 29 in Amsterdam, succeeds in this position to Bill Halkias who has completed his term three years at the head of the IRF.
A symbolic ceremony marking this event took place on Friday at Morocco’s stand at the summit of the International Transport Forum, in the presence of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, who led a large Moroccan delegation to this summit.
The election of Anouar Benazzouz as president of the IRF “comes to crown, on the one hand, the active presence of ADM on the international scene of road and motorway players, and its commitment to position Morocco as a regional hub and African leader in the field, and on the other hand, the efforts and the work provided by the CEO of ADM as vice-president of the IRF during the last 4 years”says a press release from Autoroutes du Maroc.
The new president of the IRF “is committed to continuing to implement the federation’s mission to promote the development of safe, efficient and sustainable road infrastructure internationally, and to further strengthen partnerships, federate and mobilize all stakeholders and stakeholders”.
