The Casablanca Stock Exchange closes slightly down

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed its exchanges on Monday, down slightly, weakened by the poor performance in particular of the sectors “Community services” and “Participation and real estate development”.

After a session mostly in the red, the index of all stocks, Masi, fell 0.08% to 13,122.02 points. The MSI20, for its part, fell by 0.10% to 1,075.13 points and the Madex by 0.08% to 10,668.32 points.

The benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” gained 0.12% to 987.92 points.

Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 lost 0.16% to 12,462.40 points and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid dropped 0.08% to 11,187.14 points.

In terms of sectors, 10 indexes posted a gray mine, against 10 up, while four sectors showed no change.

Under the influence of the poor performance of its single stock Lydec (-3.98%), the “Utilities” index showed the strongest sector decline.

The sector “Real estate participation and promotion” (-2.57%) also ended up among the losers, weighed down by its title “Douja Prom Addoha” (-2.93%), while the “Electricity” index was down 2.34% driven by its unique title “Taqa Morocco”.

As for the winners, “Forestry and paper” appreciated by 3.96%, while the “Engineering and industrial equipment” and “Chemicals” sectors gained 1.78% and 1.25% respectively.

At the end of this day, the overall volume of securities exchanges stood at 119.28 million dirhams (MDH), mainly carried out on the central market. Market capitalization amounted to nearly 674.50 billion dirhams (MMDH).

The largest declines were recorded by Lydec (-3.98%), Ennakl (-3.53%), Involys (-3.41%), Douja Prom Addoha (-2.93%) and Alliances (-2 , 34%).

The largest increases were achieved by Disway (3.99%), Med Paper (3.96%), Stroc Industries (3.96%), Fennie Brossette (3.96%) and SM.Monétique (3.02 %).
