The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed its exchanges on Thursday, down slightly, weakened by the poor performance in particular of the “Utilities” and “Beverages” sectors.
After a session mostly in the red, the index of all stocks, Masi, fell 0.08% to 13,186.83 points. The MSI20, for its part, fell by 0.03% to 1,081.33 points and the Madex by 0.09% to 10,723.19 points.
The benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” index gained 0.15% to 990.52 points.
Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 lost 0.26% to 12,540.72 points and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid dropped 0.08% to 11,253.19 points.
On the sectoral level, 7 indices showed a gray mine, against 14 up, while three sectors showed no change.
Under the influence of the poor performance of its single stock Lydec (-3.99%), the “Utilities” index showed the strongest sector decline.
The “Beverages” sector (-3.25%) also ended up among the losers, weighed down by its title “Société des beverages du Maroc” (-3.96%).
As for the winners, “Real estate investment companies” appreciated by 0.97%, while the “hardware, software and IT services” and “banking” sectors gained 0.72% and 0.38% respectively.
At the end of this day, the overall volume of securities trading stood at MAD 155.21 million (MDH), mainly carried out on the central market. Market capitalization amounted to nearly 677.25 billion dirhams (MMDH).
The largest decreases were recorded by Jet contractors (-4%), M2M Group (-3.99%), Lydec (-3.99%), Aluminum du Maroc (-3.96%) and Société des beverages du Morocco (-3.96%).
The largest increases were achieved by CIH (3.87%), SM Monétique (1.95%), Aradei Capital (1.83%), Involys (1.62%) and Ciments du Maroc (1.59%) ).
