Morocco has recorded 676 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, down slightly from the previous day, bringing the total number of cases identified at the national level since the start of the epidemic to 496,097.
Currently, the total of active cases increases to 3,916, among them, 411 cases are in serious condition. In terms of national incidence, the rate rises to 1,364.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Over the last 24 hours, the incidence has reached 1.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the number of fully vaccinated people (having received the first and second dose) has reached 3,674,251 while those having received the first dose of the vaccine is estimated at 4,320,349, according to the Department of Health.
About the geographical distribution of the new cases identified in Morocco in the last 24 hours, it is the region of Casablanca-Settat which comes first with 488 infections, the vast majority of which were recorded in the city of Casablanca with 388 new cases, 24 in Settat, 20 in Nouaceur, 18 in Mohammedia, 16 in Berrechid, 10 in El Jadida and 4 in Sidi Bennour.
Second region in the ranking, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra which lists 51 new positive for coronavorus of which 20 cases were recorded in Salé, 12 in Skhirat-Témara, 9 in Kénitra, 7 in Rabat, 2 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Khemisset.
For its part, the Marrakech-Safi region recorded 22 new cases in Marrakech, 5 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 4 in Essaouira and Al Haouz and 1 in Rehamna for a total of 36 covid-19 infections.
Same results for the regions of Dakhla-Oued Eddhab (all in Oued Eddahab) and the Oriental (9 in Oujda-Angad and Nador and 1 case in Berkane) which both identified 19 new infections.
Close results for the region of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and the region of Souss-Massa which recorded respectively 15 cases (13 in Tanger-Assilah and 2 in Larache) for the first and 14 cases for the second (5 in Agadir- Ida-Ou-Tanane, 4 in Tata, 3 in Tiznit and 2 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul).
In addition, the Drâa-Tafilalet region has identified 12 infections including 6 in Errachidia, 5 in Tinghir and 1 in Zagora, and 7 cases in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (5 in Laâyoune and 2 in Smara).
The region of Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 6 infections, all in Guelmim, and the same results for Beni Mellal-Khénifra whose cases are distributed as follows: 5 cases in Khouribga and 1 in Khénifra. Finally, the region of Fez-Meknes is the least affected this Wednesday with 3 cases identified including 2 in Fez and 1 in Taza
