Business leaders in the Construction sector expect activity to remain stable in the second quarter of 2021, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

This stability in the construction sector would be accompanied by a drop in the number of employees, adds the note.
In the first quarter of 2021, activity in the construction sector would have seen a slight decrease, due, on the one hand, to the decline in activity in the branches of “Specialized construction works” and “Civil engineering” and , on the other hand, the increase in activity in the “construction of buildings” branch.
Order books in construction would have been at a lower than normal level and employment would have fallen, notes the HCP, adding that under these conditions, the capacity utilization rate (TUC) in the sector is falling. would be set at 62%.
