The autonomy plan, the “only possible option” to move forward

The autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom to find a definitive solution to the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara is the “only possible option” and the “only practical solution” to move forward, said Wednesday in Rabat, British MP Liam Fox.

This position was expressed by Liam Fox in a statement to the press following his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

“It is important to focus on what is best for the people of the region and to seek a practical solution to advance policies at the regional level,” he said.

As politicians and leaders, “it is our responsibility to ensure that the quality and standard of living, as well as the security of citizens, are placed at the top of the agenda”, assured Liam Fox.

Proposed by Morocco in 2007, the autonomy plan in the southern provinces now enjoys strong momentum and the clear support of more and more countries such as Spain, France, Germany, the -Netherlands, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, Portugal and Serbia.
