The Atlas Lionesses 7th in Africa

FIFA unveiled its women’s world ranking this Friday, June 9. If the Atlas Lionesses have gained a place to position themselves 72nd in the world, they remain 7th in Africa, still dominated by Nigeria.

The top three in the world rankings remain unchanged: United States, Germany and Sweden.

At the African level, Morocco points behind Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.

This ranking is revealed one month before the start of the Australia-New Zealand World Cup 2023 (July 20-August 20).

The Atlas Lionesses will play in Group H which includes Morocco, Germany, Colombia and South Korea.

As part of the preparations for this deadline, the coach of the national team, Reynald Pedros, has scheduled three friendly matches during July against Italy (1st), Switzerland (5th) and Jamaica (16th).
