Morocco has constantly multiplied its efforts to help resolve the Libyan crisis, in a spirit of facilitation and not interference. These efforts were crowned by the success of the meeting, in Bouznika, of the “6+6” mixed commission charged by the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State with drawing up electoral laws for the legislative and presidential election in Libya.
To this end, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Abou El Gheit praised the efforts of the Kingdom which hosted these works and contributed to their success.
“We hope to encourage the Libyan parties after the compromises announced to overcome the obstacles hindering the final signing of the agreement in the coming days,” the spokesman for the secretary general of the Arab League said in a statement.
Same story at the level of the African Union (AU), which also congratulated Morocco for its action in this matter.
“I congratulate the Kingdom of Morocco for its facilitation,” wrote AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat in a tweet.

The Chairperson of the AU Commission also “welcomed the agreement reached within the framework of the joint commission charged by the House of Representatives and the Libyan High Council of State for the drafting of electoral laws for the legislative and presidential election in Libya.
As a reminder, the “6+6” mixed commission announced, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, that its members reached, after two weeks of meetings in Morocco, a compromise on the subject of the laws governing the presidential elections and parliamentarians scheduled for the end of the year.
The Bouznika meeting is part of the extension of the series of meetings hosted by the Kingdom, bringing together the various Libyan parties with a view to deepening the dialogue on the ways and means to lead to the resolution of the crisis in this country. , following an approach that provides the right space for dialogue and constructive consultation.
