In accordance with the High Instructions of the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the FAR and the American Armed Forces are co-organising, until June 16, the 19th edition of the “African Lion” exercise. .

A press release from the General Staff of the FAR, specifies that an opening ceremony was organized this Monday at the headquarters of the General Staff of the South Zone in Agadir, announcing the official launch of this joint multinational exercise in presence of representatives of participating countries.

On this occasion, the theme of the exercise and the various activities on the program for this 19th edition were presented, in particular the operational planning exercise for the senior staff of the “Task Force”, the land tactical exercises, maritime, air and combined, day and night, a combined exercise of special forces, airborne operations, the Military Field Hospital providing surgical-medical services for the benefit of the population, and exercises to fight against weapons of massive destruction.

Scheduled to take place in seven regions of Morocco, namely: Agadir, Tan-Tan, Mehbes, Tiznit, Kenitra, Benguerir and Tifnit, the “African Lion 2023” exercise remains an annual meeting which contributes to consolidating Moroccan military cooperation. and also to strengthen the exchange between the armed forces of different countries in order to promote security and stability in the region.
