
A 14-year-old boy was fatally hit by a car in Montpellier on the evening of the semi-final of the football world cup between France and Morocco on December 14.
The man suspected of having fatally mowed down a teenager in Montpellier in mid-December during the celebrations of the World Cup semi-final between France and Morocco, was arrested on Tuesday near Perpignan, the Montpellier prosecutor’s office announced.
“The respondent was arrested early this morning near Perpignan by investigators from the Territorial Directorate of the Montpellier Judicial Police in execution of an arrest warrant issued by an investigating judge”told AFP the public prosecutor, Fabrice Bélargent, confirming information from France 3 Occitanie.
Last tribute to Aymen
The driver had fled on the night of December 15 after hitting 14-year-old Aymen in circumstances that have yet to be clarified in the disadvantaged district of La Paillade, in the north-west of Montpellier.
This drama had aroused great emotion in Montpellier where a thousand people marched last Tuesday, white roses in hand to pay a last tribute to the teenager.
