Tax revenue increased by 17.4% at the end of December

Tax revenues showed good behavior overall, with an increase of 37.3 billion dirhams (MMDH) or 17.4% at the end of December 2022, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

These receipts thus recorded an achievement rate of 113%, despite the significant effort of the State in terms of tax reimbursements, which concerned a total amount of 19.5 billion dirhams, including the share borne by local authorities, against 14.6 billion dirhams at the end of December 2021 and 11.2 billion dirhams under the forecast of the LF, specifies the ministry in a document on the situation of the expenses and resources of the Treasury (SCRT) of December 2022 .

By nature of tax and tax, the main developments that have characterized the behavior of tax revenue show an increase in corporate tax of 17.8 billion dirhams (+40%) mainly following the significant improvement in revenue in title of the additional adjustment (+6.3 billion dirhams, +111.8%) and installments (+10.5 billion dirhams, +37.7%).

It is also the increase in income tax (IR) of nearly 23.6 billion dirhams (+8.1%) thanks, in particular, to income from income tax on salaries (+2, 5 billion dirhams) and income tax on professionals (+292 million dirhams (MDH)).

The document also mentions the drop in revenue from value added tax (VAT) of nearly 2 billion dirhams (-9.4%), mainly due to the increase in refunds, which reached 13.8 billion dirhams in 2022 against 10.5 billion dirhams in 2021.

Added to this, the increase in import VAT of 12 billion dirhams (+28%) and customs duties of 2 billion dirhams (+16.9%), under the effect of the increase in imports ( +42.3% at the end of November 2022), and domestic consumption taxes of 645 MDH (+2%), mainly attributable to ICT on tobacco (+452 MDH, +3.7%) and on products other than energy products (+369 MDH, +15.5%).

Regarding registration and stamp duties, they improved by 2.3 billion dirhams.

For their part, non-tax revenues, amounting to nearly 48.7 billion dirhams, show an achievement rate of 135% compared to the forecasts of the FL.

The SCRT is the statistical document which presents, on behalf of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the results of the execution of the forecasts of the finance law with a comparison with the achievements of the same period of the previous year. .
