As part of its job as a planner-developer, Tanger Med Zones, a subsidiary of the Tanger Med group, has started the development of the new commercial zone located between Tetouan and M’diq at Cabo Negro, with an area of 70ha. The first 30ha tranche will be delivered in April 2022.
The first installation in the area is that of the world leader in furniture and decoration “IKEA” on an area of more than 3 ha with 19,000 m² covered, whose construction has already started, with an opening scheduled for summer 2022, specifies the Tanger Med Group.
The central space of the new shopping area has been allocated to an outlet project covering an area of 10ha, expandable to 20ha, dedicated to consumer commerce. Like the large international outlets, this project will provide a new shopping experience in the North of the Kingdom, with the installation of international clothing and accessories brands.
The facilities will also include leisure areas, playgrounds, catering, etc. In addition, this project aims to support tourist activity through the creation of a shopping and leisure destination, capable of smoothing out seasonality. and complete the seaside vocation of the region.
A Call for Expressions of Public Interest will be launched on November 29, 2021 to select a specialist investor / operator with the skills and know-how required for the development, promotion and management of outlets projects.
Tanger Med Zones has developed and fitted out nearly 2,000 HA, including 6 activity zones dedicated to industry, logistics and services. It has more than 1,100 companies with nearly 90,000 jobs.
