Switzerland reiterated on Friday its support for “Serious and credible efforts of Morocco aimed at a political solution based on compromise” to the question of the Moroccan Sahara, while affirming to have taken note, in this sense, of the autonomy initiative presented by the Kingdom.
“Switzerland supports the efforts of the United Nations and the central role they play in the process concerning the Sahara issue”, we read in the joint declaration made public at the end of the visit to Bern by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita. Switzerland which “Supports a political solution in accordance with international law and the relevant resolutions of the Security Council”, said “Remain convinced that only negotiation will lead to a political, just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution”.
