The Minister Delegate, in this sense, reported more than 1.530 million arrests between July 25, 2020 and April 22, 2021 for violations of the preventive measures taken to fight against the spread of Covid-19, either one or an average of more than 5,700 arrests / day.
And to specify that some 280,000 individuals were brought to justice, or 18% of all those arrested.

The state of health emergency declared on March 20, 2020 greatly contributed to stem the spread of Covid-19, which motivated its extension until May 10, 2021 in order to allow the adoption of the appropriate decisions dictated by the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the country and face any health threat, continued the official.
The Ministry of the Interior has taken the initiative, within the framework of its attributions, and in support of the other ministerial departments concerned, to institute the necessary measures for the preservation of the health of the citizens by adopting an approach based on sensitizing and making the population aware of compliance with legal provisions for the maintenance of public order, as well as on rigor in the intervention to enforce the precautionary measures in force, noted the official government, he argued.
Boutayeb, in this regard, explained that to implement this orientation, and for more efficiency in the management of the next stage, especially after the relaxation observed in the respect of preventive measures and the increase in cases of contamination, the government issued a decree requiring any offender to pay a transactional or lump sum fine in the event of violation of the measures in force, including the compulsory wearing of a mask, curfew and inter-city travel.
