Spanish Rescue Workers Impressed By Moroccan Teams’ Professionalism

Spanish rescue workers have expressed their admiration for the professionalism and dedication of Moroccan teams in their efforts to rescue, evacuate, and provide care for the injured following the recent earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom.

Igor Simonoff, the head of the Spanish rescue team stationed in the Talat N’Yacoub commune (located 100 km from Marrakech), told MAP, “We’ve come to support the local teams who have been mobilized since the very beginning and who have impressed us with their efforts.”

Simonoff, responsible for coordinating the actions of the Spanish team specializing in this field, highlighted the strong collaboration between the Spanish and Moroccan teams. He praised the “very good understanding” and the “relationship of trust” that has characterized their interactions during the response efforts.

Search and rescue teams from Spain, the UK, and Qatar are currently working alongside Moroccan relief teams in the affected areas.

The offers of support and assistance from various friendly and brotherly countries are being assessed based on the specific needs identified by Moroccan authorities on the ground.

The earthquake has prompted an outpouring of solidarity from numerous heads of state, governments, and international institutions. They have extended their condolences and expressed their solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco and its people during this challenging time.
