In a lively meeting especially in the last minutes of regulation time, Spain overcame Croatia after extra time (5-3), this Monday during the knockout stages of Euro 2020. In the next round, La Roja will face the winner of the France-Switzerland match.
Everything had started well for Croatia. The reigning world vice-champion selection opened the scoring in the first period following a big mistake by the Spanish goalkeeper, Unaï Simon (20th). La Roja came back to score before the break thanks to Sarabia (38th) and took the advantage after returning from the locker room thanks to two achievements by Azpilicueta (57th) and Torres (77th).
But Croatia did not let down with two new achievements at the very end of the match. First by Orsic (85th) then in stoppage time through Pasalic (90th + 2).
In extra time, Spain definitely broke away with two new goals from Morata (103rd) and Oyarzabal (105th)
